I say no...cause just to think about it...the ps1 emu is enough. Its worth to play with better graphics and sound but some problems, sometimes. Most ppl I think will be able to play any games with Voodoo 2 and at least 500mhz of any cpu. I guess if there was a ps2 emu ppl would at least need 1ghz cpus and stuff. I just like to play video games on my system then downloading all this stuff and setting and testing everything to be pefect for evey single game and stuff. I guess its just me cause im lazy.

I guess my reasons are very close to Ryos'. It like the idea of having several systems in only one unit (that would be like emulating SNES, PSX, Gameboy, Neo-Geo altogether in one computer). Furthermore, advanced graphics options sounds nice to have around.
The question is "do we really need a PS2 emu"? I don't think it's a matter of needing. That's more like it would be nice to have it. The reason to have a PSX emu is not only relying on better graphics and such. Each user has its reasons. Tell me: let's suppose you have a PS2; you have a perfect emu running near 100% of it; and you have a computer config totally capable of running it. Wouldn't you use it just because you don't need it?

You guys shouldn't even be thinking about a PS2 emulator. TYhink about it, PSX emulators are far (or near depend of your opinion) from being perfect so far.
Neither of Nintendo 8bit or Super Nintendo 16bit emulators are perfect. Zsnes still need to run some games, and there is still a lot of glitches on most Nes emulators. The only reason I would want to see a PS2 emulator, it's because it will makes company to lose money. Their making to much MONEY.

I don't think that emulators for PS2 and XBox would be necessary...
I agree with the idea that emulators exists, or ,for revive old classics, or to improve the game quality and open new options that the console can't have.... But....It would be good if all those games made for PS2 and Xbox (if they were released for PC)..... work correctly (and with the same graphics) in the PC.... Would be very cool....playing FFX for PC...with the same graphics and sound quality as the PS2 game..... Well.....its just a dream.......

No one really needs an emulator for any system but eventually someone will make one, they always do. It's the joy of programming and most emulation authors make emulators to show off their technical prowess (and because they have too much time on their hands
). And I would assume that console emulation will get easier as consoles and PCs converge. Many of the PS2's GPU functions are already available on modern-day videocards (bilinear filtering, bump-mapping, etc.). It'll just require a lot more power on the PC part.BTW, I don't use emulators for enhanced graphics or sounds. I use emulators to play the games that were designed for those systems. Console systems tend to wear out after about 2-3 years of use so I can use emulators to replay the old classics, and old arcade games are nearly impossible to find and acquire.
