NES FCE Ultra Sound Issues
Heh, Been a long time since I played any NES Games. Anyways I just set up this wonderful emulator but one problem I have is with sound. It goes way too darn fast! I looked in the sound options and played with just about everything and it still goes way too fast. So is it just this emulator or is there a way to resolve it?

Sound and video are usually synced, if your video isn't going to fast, the sound shouldn't be either. I've used FCEU a few times before and never had that problem, although it might be a bug introduced in a more recent version than I had, or possibly with the rom you're using. Do all your roms have the sound problem? If not, try getting a copy of the bugged game from a different site and see if that works. Also, you might want to try the emu NNNesterJ, it's my personal favorite NES emu. |

Hmmm I tried about 4 other emus and they all have messed up sound too. It all goes way too fast. The video runs at a proper speed though. I prefer FCE Ultra becase the joypad support fits mine better. All the other ones use my analog sticks and don't recognize my normal D Pad. :/ I posted the pics of the sound I'm using for FCE and also the two screens of Nnnjester I hope soemone can help me out here.

That's really wierd that the sound is fast but the video is normal. Look in the general options and video options (I didn't see any in the sound options you posted) and look for anything with sync in it and try turning that on. What specific game/s are you having trouble with? NNNesterJ recognizes controlpads. I don't have any analog controllers, yet mine all work fine in every emu I've tried (except ones without any joypad support, obviously). Maybe you need to reinstall your controller, or update your drivers for it. I tried several game on both FCEU and NNNesterJ, and couldn't reproduce your problem. I do have something you can try though. Since both progs are working fine on my comp with my current settings, I zipped the FCEU config file and the NNNJ ini file: http://togarten.multimania.com/NES.zip Copy or rename your currnet FCEU cfg file and NNNJ ini file, then unzip that file into your emu folder. Now try to play and see if you still have your sound problem. Also, make sure your direct-x files are up to date, that could be the source of your problem. Have you tried lowering the buffer or possibly the sample rate? I'm just taking a wild guess that those COULD somehow be causing your problem.

All my roms go perfect video but fast sound. It is very strange. I tried higher sample rates to try and slow down my sound but I do have a pretty good sound card so tha probably makes it go fast too LOL, Well I'm gonna try some other ones. Hopefully it is just the emu for me or the roms. Hmmm Thanks for your guys' attempts at helping me though.
