SPC converting?

I've just recently made a dump of some of the chrono trigger songs I liked. My problem is that, of coarse, nothing can burn SPC files. I want to know if there is a way to stream them into a streaming audio file so that I can use them. Oh, and on a bit unrelated subject, anybody know where I can get the orchestrated version on cd?

Well, you can always use winamp to convert them to .wav, then use another program to convert it to a different format if needed.

Winamp can convert from almost any format, to almost any format. It can even burn cds (although I haven't tried that myself). Get the spc input plugin for winamp and you can convert them to wavs, or get the spc input plugin and one of the mp3 output plugins, and convert directly to mp3. Either way, you can then use any prog you want to burn them to a cd.

another easy solution , just run the files and use a sound output cable from ur sound card opening for speakers to the other opening of mic . now u can record them using any recording program .

sorry to say cloud, but that's a horrible idea. even if you have an expensive studio quality microphone and speaker set, the sound wont be as good. you can just put em in winamp and convert them directly to wav

He's not saying to play the music through the speakers and record it with a microphone, he's saying to run a wire from the speaker output jack to the microphone input jack (although the line-in jack is better if you have one).

ah, i get it now.

well still...you dont even need to do that. you can use something like Audiograbber, switch winamp to WaveOut, and tell audiograbber to record the "Wave" part from your soundcard, no cords needed

....or simply have winamp do all the work with its built in wav converter

I've created a nifty tutorial about SPC Ripping and COnverting which is on my website but I'll just copy and paste here

Hello Videogames gans and welcome to the SPCs Section. Those files are the soundtracks of Snes Games. You'll Need SNESamp which can be found

HERE Heres two Good Links to Get SPC music

-Zophar

-SnesMusic

Now I'm gonna teach you how to Convert those into Mp3s

What you need
------------------

-WINamp www.winamp.com
-SNESamp (www.snesmusic.org)
-ZSnes Or ZSneswin www.zsnes.com
-A Good Program to Convert .WAV into .MP3s I'm Using that one http://www.share2.com/Cool-mp3-Converter/
-Your Favorite Snes Rom

------------------
Step 1
-Ripping Your Music From a Snes Rom.
------------------
1.Install SnesAmp & Winamp if it aint already done yet.
2.Open Zsnes Or Zsneswin
3.Load up your Favorite Snes Rom And Before The Music you want to Rip Starts Press F1 And A Special Menu will Appear.
4.Choose the Option SAVE SPC DATA and Press Enter.

You'll See a New file which ends with .SPC,Thats your Ripped Music File.

------------------
Step 2
-Convert The .SPC File into .WAV
------------------
1.Open Winamp
2.Disable Loop & Shuffle and Remove Every Single Music if theres any in the playlist.
3.Insert Your .SPC file into the Playlist.
4.Open The Winamp Menu And Select Options Then Preferences.
5.In The Next Menu Select OUTPUT and NULLSOFT DISK WRITTER then Click on OK.
6.Now all you have to do is to play the SPC File you inserted in the playlist.Dont worry if theres no sound.Thats how its supposed to be.
7.Soon as it finishes Make sure you Change back NULLSOFT DISK WRITER to Waveout.
8.Now your file is now converted into .WAV under a Strange name in the C:\ Directory.

------------------
Step 3
-Convert .WAV to .MP3
------------------

Use the program to Convert WAV into MP3 And you're Done! You've Successfuly Converted the SPC into Mp3! Congrats!

I just hope that helps.

You can combine steps 2 and 3 by either getting the pro version of winamp 5, or by getting an mp3 output plugin for the free version of winamp. Then you can use winamp to jump straight from SPC to MP3.

well, no disrespect intended, Nevermore, your guide is really cool it would be a cool experience, you can be proud you ripped it yourself.

...but for most people, who just want to hear the songs, they are already pre-ripped

Just stepping aside from mp3s, a few months ago I translated the program SPC2MIDI, from Japanese to English, which is available on zophar and my website. Its a really nifty program if you want the midi version of an SPC.
