Chrono Trigger difficulties
Good day, fellows; there is an instance in Chrono Trigger in which I am told to enter a password to gain access to a secret passage. The password calls for holding the L and R buttons and then pressing the A button; however, this is not working. I do not question the logistics of the maneuver; I feel it may relate to my wielding of a keyboard for playing the game, rather than some sort of controller. Yet, it is quite possible that I am simply performing the wrong actions, which I will elaborate further if the situation is not addressed according to my primary suppositions. If any of you could provide assistance, I would be greatly obliged. |

Solution one - Get a decent gamepad. Gravis ones are good and cheap, despite their overwhelmingly horrible d-pads Solution two (the free one) - use your emulator of choice (I'd go with ZSNES) and make it so that the L R and A buttons are all set to one key on your keyboard. EDIT Sorry, you posted while I was typing

Yeah, the problem is that, with the exception of the shift, ctrl, and alt keys, you can't press 2 keys on a keyboard at once and have them both register. This, and the sheer awkwardness of trying to use a keyboard as a game controller is why everyone who plays emus should get a controller. You can get a decent control pad for only $10~$15. Gravis gamepad pro is a particularly good one. It's very similar to a ps1 controller, and has the same button layout as an snes controller (plus 2 extra shoulder buttons), which makes it ideal for use with an snes emu.
