NES Emulators

I was just curious, what NES emulator do you use (if you use it at all)?

i use NESten, it's the best for what i need it to do (save states, Windows interface, play in a window).

Re: NES Emulators

I use BioNES. Do not really know why.
I guess I like it because it was my first emulator ever and its simple style of use.

NESten is quite old now, but to each his own. I like VirtuaNES myself.

Re: NES Emulators

well NESten has 9 different save state slots, ability to record to WAV, 4 player input, and i can play windowed in Windows (no DOS interface at all). i just mean things like that...features that make it stand out and make it the one you use.

i used to use NESticle but when i found NESten i fell in love...i cant stand emulators that run in DOS (which is the ONLY reason i dont use Zsnes)

Damn, where have you been? VirtuaNES has all the features you've mentioned, as well as countless others I find usefull (filters, user-configurable hotkeys, etc.). I was using NESten for a time, but it's poor sound quality and lack of full-screen mode turned me away. But hey, if it does what you want, more power to you.

On another note... ZSNES does use a proprietary GUI, but that doesn't mean it's DOS, though there is a DOS port.
