Mame & Neo rage

Lately, i have been playing neo geo games, but i can only get them to work with neo rage and not with mame or WinKawaks :confused:
When trying to load The last blade 2, its no problems at all in neo rage, but im kawaks i get a error saying "couldn`t find 243-p1.bin (af1e6554) for game, ERROR"
I get this message with all neo geo games i got, exept for king of fighters 98 :eyes:
My cps2 games work without any problems..
I really dont know what to do, so any help would be nice
Oh, and i got the latest v. of neorage, winkawaks and Mame32.

Rom sets for WinKawaks and MAME are quite different from NeorageX sets...

Open the zip...if the files inside have file extentions of *.ROM then you have a Neorage version. If they say *.BIN then you have a MAME / KAWAKS version.

Also keep in mind that in MAME the zip file must contain the neo geo BIOS inside.....simply borrow it from neorageX

Yup, DW is right here. Usually, there are two things different from MAME and NeoRageX roms:

1) ROMs are often named differently;
2) For newer games, MAME often needs the encrypted version of the ROM and NeoRageX needs the decreypted one.

If you're trying to run an older games, you're probably running into problem #1. Try using ClrMamePro to fix it (backup your ROMs before using it!!):

If you're running newer games, it's probably a combination of both #1 and #2. ClrMamePro can fix the ROMs with wrong names, but you'll still need the correct version for the others.

Nope, you can keep the BIOS in a file called neogeo.zip.

Hmm, didnt know it was that simple
All i had to do was to put the bios in with the game,s zip file, and they worked in both mame and kawaks, but offcourse, the neo geo rom,s can still only be played in neoRage.
