I'm not going to jump the gun just yet and close this, but everyone who downloads anything from that site should exercise caution before running any executables *coughtrojancough*.

no, this is NOT A WORKING EMULATOR and it is still being developed and it doesn't conatain any viruses, check emulator zone about it, its clean.well its up to you if you dont trust the source code. but visiting the site, i guess its not that risky, just to let everyone know, that it is true.

If the sys req is that low and it's real it'll just prove that the XBoX is just a PC in dusguise if it's a trojan we can sign the webmasters name on spamming lists

I seem to recall another admin around here say that that particular piece of software was a known fake. I would exercise caution.

here's what the statement says:

CXBX
The first XBox emulator
The text above, about how difficult it is to emulate a XBox, is from the first version of this page, before the birth of CXBX. Now the first emulator has arrived, I'm very excited to see it takes the exact approach I had imagined!
In other words, CXBX currently can convert a XBox executable file to a normal Windows executable file. Unfortunately, that does not immediatly enable you to play games. The XBox executable still relies on many calls to the XBox kernel, which will need to be substituted (ie. emulated) perfectly before you can play games.

And this is sadly what CXBX doesn't do yet (certainly not complete or perfectly anyway). Unfortunately getting all the kernel function calls properly emulatd may take quite a bit of work, so be patient, we may not see a really working emulator for some time.

Xbox is hardly a powerful PC.

Celeron 733, GeForce3, and 64MB of memory doesn't make a PC powerful.

winter mute, the architecture of my PC is virtually no different from the XBox, the only real difference is that my PC is almost double the speed of the Xbox.

Maby your CPU/RAM is twice better
but your GFX Card suks....
or not if U`ve got NV30
no ofence but nVidia made real nice peace
of monster in X-Box. Don`t think so, that
GF2/4MX, GF2Pro, GF3 even GF4Ti4200/4600
is better than this one from XBox

edit: I`ve forgot about ATI R9700 -
this card is nice too. or will be when DX9
will aprear! [Sorry 4 my English]

winter mute, the GPU in the Xbox is more of a hybrid between a GeForce3 and a GeForce4. There's nothing really magical about it, and I assure you that even a lowly GeForce4 Ti 4200 will knock its socks off. It's true that my graphics card is slightly behind, but aside from having a lower clock speed, and missing one pixel shader, the difference is negligable.

well that is if your living here in the third world country j/k

anyway, compare to other emulator minimum requirement, the Xbox emulator would be higher...

Even in a third world country, PC specs like that won't get you anywhere but internet surfing, word processing, and maybe a bit of Counterstrike.

agree on that one...

but I would much anticipate the release of a PS2 emu than an Xbox emu... hey, is the CD game of Xbox acceptable to an ordianry CD ROM or do you have to have a DVD ROM or others???

That's one of the problems. You simply can't use off-the-shelf peripherals, as the Xbox DVD is read outside-in.
