XBox or Gamecube, that be the question.

OK, guys, help me out here on which i should get. It would have been easier if i hadnt found out about some of these deals.

xbox deal - one week only - buy 2, get the 3rd free.
Xbox combo - xbox system with s controller and 2 games for $200, standard US retail price.

Gamecube deal - get the indigo GC with MArio Sunshine and MEmory card for $180 us.

xbox has a great deal of great games coming along, while on the other hand, i wanted to get GCN just for Metroid Prime and any other game they made.

:confused: So which to get? Xbox or GC.........which is the better deal and which is worth more in the long run?

GameCube. Xbox's lineup is very limited. There are a rare few gems, and Rare is on their side, but their console is still very limited. The smaller controller makes the system playable, but it's still not up to par with the GCN controller.

Metroid Prime is the least of your worries on the GameCube. Resident Evil 0, Bloodrayne, Timesplitters 2, Sould Calibur 2, Skies of Arcadia, Super Mario Sunshine, Super Smash Brothers Melee, Eternal Darkness, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicle, Tales of Phantasia, Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, and Rogue Leader will all be competing for your dollar this holiday.

Also, did you know that Nintendo will be shipping one game a day this December? It's going to be a very good time for Nintendo GameCube owners.

Anyway, that's my advice.

gamecube withouit a doubt. personally, i don't like x-box because of the games (although, i have to admit, Halo was a great game) and because of it's sheer size

In reply to the post above mine... some games for gamecube ain't for kids. take resident evil for one. although, most of the games that i heard about for gamecube are kiddish but... other games like resident evil, just makes me want to get gamecube.

GameCube is hardly a kiddie system Novice Gamer. To even entertain the idea just gives me the impression that you are about 13 - 16 years old, and have scarcely a clue what you are talking about. You strike me as the kind of person that would buy an Xbox along with all the other little kiddies because it's a grownup system.

I DARE you to find a kiddie game on the GameCube. After a bit of searching, you would probably come across Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, or Tarzan. I got news for you. Those games are just as crappy on the PS2 and Xbox. In addition, the PS2 has games such as Mary Kate and Ashley, and the Xbox has even more god awful crap of that variety.

If you are talking about Mario and Zelda, well, each to his own, but I know that I enjoy playing them greatly. Maybe I am a little kid posing as an adult, or maybe I am an adult who is old enough to realize that for a game to be fun, it doesn't need excessive gore.

If you are still of the mindset that cartoon style graphics make a game kiddie, then that's fine. I can't change your opinion until you grow a little older. So take a look at GameCube's other games. In case you hadn't noticed, Resident Evil, Eternal Darkness, and Metroid Prime are ALL GAMECUBE EXCLUSIVE. Not to mention that games such as BloodRayne, Medal of Honor Frontline, Soul Calibur 2, BMX XXX, and so many others are also coming to GameCube shortly. I don't see how you can call those kiddie either.

Now I would really appreciate it if you took the time to figure out what the hell you are talking about before you speak in the future. Thank you.

Seriously, if I were you, I would get the cube. But it depends. it depends on your taste of games. What kinda games do you like?

If you get XXXBOX you'll get..........eh.....Shenmue.....and....:confused:
If you get the Cube you'll get All the REs, Eternal Darkness, Super Smash Bros Melee, Sonic Adventure 1,2,3 and also other games.which I am interested less.

It depends on the games you'll be looking for. This is the main reason you should consider in order to buy the Xbox or the GameCube.
The Xbox's Hardware is the more powerful at the moment, but there's no xbox game I might be interested in. So think of it.
I'd recommend you the GameCube. The Gamecube has some games I'm recently interested in, RE, RE0, RE4, SM Sunshine, Eternal Darkness, and a lt more...

Hmm, I love all games, action, horror, rpg, blah blah and so on. See, you guys are being byist. First off, GC is not kiddy, dunno why that was ever started, and Xbox is not bad because its MS. From the deals i mentioned, which seems the greater deal? And I'm aware the GC has a deal this xmas, it includes Sunshine with a Mem card.

And I can name tons of games for both systems i would get, and Ninja, some of those games are on Xbox and ps2, such as timesplitters2 and bloodryne. Which honestly, xbox would pull those games off much nicer then GC or ps2. But then again, its how we look at it.

My GC line (if i had it): Met Prime, Zelda, Sunshine, FFC, Godzilla (yes, godzilla), Re is a waste of money IMO, amoung others

My Xbox line: Ninja Gaiden, DOAV, DOA3, Dead to Rights, Blinx, amoung others.

See, I look at both systems and they both seem great. But which at the time is the best deal, that simple.

And of course NINJA< i knew u would say GC

Dark Zero, DOAV and DOA3 aren't actually that good. If you wait for Soul Calibur II, I'm sure you won't be dissapointed. As for Volleyball, Beach Spikers on GameCube is actually pretty good, if not as much a sex symbol as DOAV.

As for Dead to Rights, that's coming to GameCube as well.

Ninja Gaiden.... God I hate Tecmo. That's one I would like to have.

Anyway, I would say that the GameCube deal is the better one. You are saving like $50 with the bundle, and with the price drop, that's freaking huge. I wish I had gotten my GameCube that cheap, although I wouldn't have wanted to wait this long.

As for Timesplitters 2, Free Radical said that they made Timesplitters 2 different on each system to accentuate each system's strengths and weaknesses. I assure you the GCN version is as good as the Xbox version.

Anyway, thanks for reading. I'll let you decide, as you know what I am going to say. (Keep in mind I am VERY happy with my GameCube though, and you would be getting quite the deal)

EDIT: Sorry, one last comment. Given the Xbox's PC-architecture, I wouldn't give up hope of an Xbox emulator in the works.

Tecmo asked its fans a long while back what system they wanted to see Ninja Gaiden on. GameCube won by a landslide, and Xbox came last with like 5% of the votes. It seems that MS is paying them a lot of money. Yet Tecmo knows that the GameCube fans want to see the game on their system. It's hard to say if they will eventually give it to us.
