How to create a working fully decrypted rom of kof 2000 ?

So, I got the rom a while back and managed to create the fully decrypted one, but I formatted and lost all my NeoGeo roms. Now I got kof 2000 back (the encrypted one), and when I save the decrytped Cs with Winkawaks, and replace them in the rom, kawaks crash when it's about to start the game. Can anyone tell me what I must do exactly to create a fully decrypted rom ?

Hi, Raziel.
...ok, first things first: As you know, winkawaks supports 3 versions of kof2000, and to create the "fully encrypted one" you need to check the following things: Load up kawaks and select "audit romsets", so that the "winkawaks audit.txt" is generated. Now, open the load menu, check "only available" and press "rescan all". The list will probably show that you have the "kof2000" (encrypted) & the "kof2000n" (non encrypted P) romsets available (or maybe only one of these two). Now that you made sure that winkawaks recognizes correctly these parent roms, you can check the "save decrypted C" option and load up kof2000. Ok, now if you read "winkawaks audit.txt" you'll see that you also need the 2 non-encrypted P roms to add to the "kof2knd" (fully decrypted) zip file, along with those decrypted graphics (you don't need to add the sound roms, since winkawaks reads them from the parent rom). These 2 rom files (257-p1n.bin & 257-p2.bin) can be found in the "kof2000n" romset. You'll probably ask, "can't I just rename and use the P roms of the "kof2000" romset ?" - well, no, because the kof2000 zip, contains the encrypted ones. Always remember to check the CRC of the roms (as listed in "winkawaks audit.txt") to verify their authenticity.
If you've done everything right, you'll have all the decrypted C & P roms in the "kof2knd" zip file, so now you can check if it is recognized correctly by entering the load menu and selecting "scan for new".
As a sidenote: the S rom data (which are encrypted in the graphics roms since '99) are not really needed in the kof2knd.zip, as far as winkawaks is concerned. Also, when you zip roms its best if you dont zip the full path of their location along with them, or you may run into problems.

...that's all - sorry for the long post... good luck
