The Jaguar, quite simply was crap. AFAIK, there are no emu proijects planned for it, as there are no decent games on it.

Yeah, it was a wicked arcade game, and an even better PC game.

there was also an incarnation of the game for jaguar. IIRC it wasn't related to the other AvPs and it was supposedly a really good game. Unfortunately the only one (maybe doom also) that was worthwhile on the jaguar.

wow kmjk you're like seven years late on that question, and the jaguar (as well as Atari hardware)'s demise was well publicized.

there are a few good games on it, perhaps the most famous one being tempest 2000 (that game is really a blast), but it was ported to many other consoles and the pc.

the jaguar claimed to be a 64bit videogame although he actually had 2 32bit processors, so why he had almost only those game boy looking games? it was really weird a "so powerful" machine doing that while the saturn and the psx were showing some crazy stuff at the time.

hmmmm... I though no one would ever ask about jaguar... since its way down the grave, too bad for atari since they were the pioneer in these game systems... oh well...

Really? I thought that only a part of the Jaguar was 64-bit, enough for atari to calim that it was 64-bit. The rest was 32-bit. So it was not a "pure" 64-bit system.

I meant the Jaguar game, which was better then the both other AvP games.

A jaguar Emulator has now been released, Project Tempest - it plays many games, but is soundless, and obviously not completed thus far. Check the main page of Ngemu for details....

Yeah but the real question is: Why would you want to play an Atari Jaguar game?

Erm, the Jaguar had a few decent games, AVP, and Tempest2000 to name but two. It is also good to have yet another system emulated.

yeah, trotter's right. Jaguar has SOME good games, but best of luck on finding the game (the ROM version)

but IMO, better stick to an SNES or SEGA emu than the jaguar emu...

Ever played/seen Battlesphere (not Battlemorph)? Anyone unknown to Jaguar would immediately think its a PC/N64/or PSX game. AVP was great, I wish I still had my Jaguar.

Oh well, don't matter because I have ALL the roms! (except for Battlesphere).

Proj. Tempest looks very promising and looks great. Have not tried it yet.

Anyone tried it yet?

There is also Jagulator, made by the same dude who made UltraHLE, has lots of functions but does not run any comercial games yet.

We decided to satisfy our curiosity and try some Jaguar games on Project Tempest.... a few games booted...slow on our Pent 3 733mhz though...but hell it's an initial release...so no complaints here....
If you liked the Atari classics of Tempest and Defender..the upgrades are kinda nice...has the same fun gameplay with pertied up flash.....

Double Dragon V - WTF...someone should be smacked for this one....If you want to try it download the SNES version...this one just has more color..but has the same 2D sprites....

Raiden - It's the arcade game ported...the only gripe we had is that half the screen is covered with a stat screen.....just MAME it for the real experience....

Fight For Life did not boot - suppose to be a wannabe Tekken / VF

Kasumi (somethingorother) did not boot - a 2D Mortal Kombat wannabe

more tests soon

I dont think the Jaguar was that bad, I mean it was far from great but I think the few good games it did have were really good, and the others were uhhh well pretty bad. Though still I think the jaguar had it's lasting effect on video game history.
