Why should you/did you get an Xbox?

Here are the top 5 reasons to buy an Xbox.

1. Virtua Fighter 4:Evolution [confirmed], Halo, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Shenmue 2, Shenmue 3[its on the Japanese site of Sega's Shenmue webpage], Tony Hawk Pro Skater 3, Jet Grind Radio 2,and tons more games

2. Emulators! Tons of them. CPS2 and Arcade emulators, SNES emulator, NES emulator, Game Boy Advance emulator, N64 emulator, Sega Master System emulator, and many others running at full frames/sec.

3. Quake 2x!! A homebrew port of Quake 2 that uses 9x superantialiasing[the max antialiasing capabilities for the XBox].

4. DiVX player

5. Dolby DTS 6.1 ext. support!

What would be your top 5 reasons? Please do not flame and say "Xbox sucks and PS2/PS1/Gamecube/Dreacmast/Atari/any other system rules." I just wanna know why you got an Xbox. Those are my reasons

A console is only as good as it's games. I've seen Halo and it's OK, but PS2 has more better games.

PS2 has been out for longer,making it having the superiority over Xbox and GameCube,however,I don't think Xbox will make it,M$ won't give it up,but the success won't be here.
The only ones who will emerge from this are Sony and Nintendo(hopefully,so that the gaming industry can keep what it has left of "sanity",cause I think Xbox is tthe worst thing that ever hapenned to this industry).

In my case I don't hate M$,I don't have any problem with them on the software POV,but I think their intervention in the console world is making it even worse,when Sony came with the PS1,the gaming industry turned into a even bigger money system than it was,but at least,it still had some "sanity".
Now that M$ is in,I'm afraid of console industry turning into something comparable to the music industry : Britney Spears(and others): no real talent,a great ass,cute,here we go,it sells.
It already started with Tomb Raider(OK,that was before the Xbox),the first one was ok,all the other ones were just copies using Lara's body as selling mean.
Now with Xbox we're kinda going into a PC like market : lots of games,all good looking,not so great and inovative(look at DOA 3,what's the major difference between DOA 3 and DOA 2 ? None.

but most gamers are not like little teenage kids raving over britney we crave quality and great games if its not good i dont buy it. what is wrong with compition in the console biz. can anyone say they would have the ballz to go up agenst a name like playstation like they did. and even a year later look at the advancments in the ps2 games. i mean m$ has some grapefrutes imo

Tekken used to have some good ideas,now it just sucks.
In fact the only fighting games I like are KOF,and the Soul series(Blade/Calibur).

Games listed which are not in some form or another, on another console: Halo, Panzer Dragoon Orta, Jet Grind Radio 2, and Shenmue 3
Games I'm interested in: Halo.... tentatively, but that's coming to PC anyway.

Right. I can play it in 4xFSAA on my Voodoo 5 in stupidly high rez, and it'd look that much better.

Once again, my PC already does that, so why would I buy a console to do that?

I think you mean 5.1 (5+1=6 channel). MY PC does that. My PS2 does that.
I can't honestly see a reason to purchase an X-Box barring Halo and DoA3.
Halo is coming to PC.
DoA3 isn't woth forking out shedloads for a console.

I cant find a single good reason to buy xbox right now but there are tonnes of reasons to buy a ps2 or may be even a dreamcast.I am definitely getting one of them pretty soon.

If you need a little table to put your PS2 or gamecube one you can always buy an XBOX...

First, I dont like the Xbox. I dont like what MS is doing, and especially do not like the fact that they're trying to make you think you should use your pc for age of empires and your xbox for all other games. That's the no.1 reason why I'm never going to get one.

But ok, I'll try to put that aside, and list my top reasons...

1) Server. There are possibilities that the Xbox would make a good server, and a cheap one at that.

2) Because of the graphics. Admitted, there are some games on that machine that look gorgeous. Of course, the PC can put up higher resolutions, but there are some very good looking games for the Xbox.

And that's about it. Anything else can be done better by a PC or other consoles.

True! Also another thing bad about the Xbox, is that there are Many game! A lot of games that are runing slow and with flaws! Like this surf game I can't remember the name :P

well...pc's do that too
and actually half of the games on the DC have a lot of framedrop as well =P (that includes crazy taxi, sonic adventure and shenmue)
