FF2j for NES

I was wondering which emulator is best for NES. I plan on playing FF2j. I would prefer an emulator that looks and sounds better rather than runs faster because i'm sure my Anthlon 900 can handle NES emulation.

I use VirtuaNES. here are the system requirements in case ur wondering (obviously, u should have no problems):

OS: Windows98/2000 95(probably it is necessary more than IE4.0)
DirectX7.0a or higher
CPU: Pentium200 higher
VIDEO: Video card for DirectDraw(required)
SOUND: Sound card for DirectSound(required)
JOYPAD: When there is it, be convenience.

u can dl it here: http://www.vg-network.com/emulist.phtml?emuarchive=nes (just scroll down till u see VirtuaNES)

FCE Ultra is my NES Emu of choice. Your 900 will handle it no problem. Plays FF 1 English, FF 2 Japanese (translated), and FF 3 Japanese (translated) perfectly. Even plays "hard to emulate" games like Gauntlet 2, Super Mario 3 (one of the best if not THE BEST Marios of all time), Kings Quest 5, and Times of Lore (a personal favorite) flawlessly. Tomorrow I'll post a couple of screens for you.
sincerely,
sx/amiga

I use Nester. I have absolutely no complaints with it. I am about 5 hours into FF2.

VirtNES....

If your curious about NES compatibility.....The console used various mappers....the more mappers the emulator can handle...the more compatible....BioNES and FWnes have the most...but are not feature rich....

I use FCEU and Virtua NES. FCEU is the only emu that plays Star Tropics perfectly without any graphical glitches. Virtua NES has the smoothest animation of any nes emu for me.

That's definately one good reason to get a GBA right there.

I don't know anything about FF2 but I need some help on FF3 Jap or FF6 US. I can't seem to get Sabin's Blitz command in. I did it once and I have no idea how I did it the first time. Anyways my question is do u press the buttons first or wait until you see a small flash?? I tried almost everything to get around it but nothing seems to work. Thanks for your help...^-^

> FF3 Jap or FF6 US

It's the other way around.

> Anyways my question is do u press the buttons first or wait until you see a small flash??

You need to have the keys pressed before the flash goes off and press the A button at the end of the sequence.

BTW, when you have a new topic like that, you can always just start a new thread...

Why'd you quote me? Your question has nothing to do with what I said.....

I never played FF2j for NES. Is it good? I know it will have bad Graphics (It's NES) but does it have a good story? How's the gameplay?

FF2 is a little different as you gain stats rather than levels. Also the story is a bit bland like FF1 but it's not bad. I like it. Give it a shot, then decide if you like it or not.
