I remember a game for the 3DO... was some kind of MK clone, but was way better in graphics (apparently)... for this console I saw various titles that (apparently again) were good, but they only looked good in the magazine's pics, like Samurai SD, or who dont remember NFS for the 3DO????????? CRAP!!!!!!

The only 3DO game I want to play was that Yu Yu Hakusho fighting game. I don't know about the gameplay, but the anime intro rocks!

hhmm... the only thing I liked about the 3DO was the fact of the people who develop it was licencing to anyone who wanted to make the console, something never seen before, but for the games??? it wasn't the same history.... I wonder why game dev stayed away from this console?????

There's a 3DO hardware faq at gamefaqs.com, full of 3do information.

3DO had bad marketing and timing. The console and the games were actually pretty decent.

Never heard of "sewer rat" but it reminds me of "sewer shark" which was a fmv game for the sega cd.

the 3DO was released way before the Saturn and Playstation. It was the console that started the 32-bit generation.
It was quite expensive from the beginning, and unreasonable compared to the newer consoles when they came out.
Then developers started to abandon 3DO. In fact a lot of 3DO titles were ported to the Playstation, which was the last entry in the same generation. (N64 isn't REALLY the same generation for obvious reasons)
So what happened was 3DO lost some exclusivity in its game library and sank way down. A price drop was too late.
Playstation on the other hand got even more games and beat the crap out of the Saturn which was superior but doomed by the lack of 3rd party support. Sega simply couldn't write enough games to go against the rest of the world.

well I may be wrong with this, coz all of you said exactly the oppose, but to me, NFS for the 3DO was a piece of crap, it has the most "chapucero" gameplay than any other version I have seen.
