Controllers to USB? (Super Nintendo)

I found a couple controllers in great condition the other day and want them to work for the computer. I scoured the internet and couldn't find any cheap adapters so I'm going to try and build my own. I found a great website that sells chips and has a schematic for building the controllers, however I need some help as I'm new to this soldering thing.

Link to site: SNES/NES gamepad (and mouse) to USB adapter

Schematic: http://www.raphnet.net/electronique/...b/sch-revD.png

Thanks in advance!

Personally I use a Super Dual Box Pro PS/PS2 controller to usb adapter.

It cost me like 10 bucks off ebay... works with all versions of vista/xp and works on every emulator from Atari to PS2.

Also if you have a 360 controller and a old USB mouse you can make it work as well.

No soldering either which is a plus imo I find its a 50/50 thing and it may not work and its also very messy looking where as above fixes tend to be a lot easier and more dependable/clean.

The problem is I *want* my old super nintendo controller to work, the newer xbox 360 controller has a really bad d-pad and the joysticks get in the way. Also, the buttons aren't placed in the same way the old SNES controllers were.

...if any control is like a snes control, its the dualshock, or xbox 360 wired controls.

Neither of those controllers are anything like the original Super Nintendo Controller! The button layout isn't even the same! (minus the start and select buttons.)

Anyways, I'm either going to buy raphnets pre assembled PCB or this: Amazon.com: Super Nintendo Smartjoy SNES PC USB Controller Adapter Converter: Software

I'm leaning toward the super joy because I won't have to take apart my controller, it costs the same and I don't have a paypal account.

The button layout is perfectly fine. and you easily get used to it.

i play all my emulators with an s-type or powerwave 360 shape control.
