Unable to read.
Everything runs fine though...all my settings remain...nothing crashes.

Edit: Yeah the same as that one on page 3...but only when opening for the first time, after that everything runs perfectly....

Oh, interesting.

Windows XP Pro, Home Edition, or ME vs Vista?

Anyone who considered ME to be better than, or even equal to XP. I don't know. HEH!

Advance Wars DS has become playable in this release. However, even when it's at 40+ FPS, the sound/music are very slurred and choppy. During an actual battle, the screen is completely red the whole time, and the clouds are black silhouettes. It runs at about 15~20 FPS for me during that time, as well. Some 2D backgrounds which appear in the bottom box, have erroneous paletting. On top of that, many transitions between screens are still very glitchy. (Instead of fading, you see colored blocks appear everywhere for example).

Overall, it runs faster than NO$GBA but still graphically inferior. This is the only NDS game I have. Frameskips and CPU speed increases do not seem to actually make the game advance any faster, or fix the sound problems in any way.

That means you're working on another sound plugin aswell I presume? Otherwise I doubt using dsmplay will be very enjoyable (unless the experience is very different from when trying to play a game)

Anyways keep up the great work

DLDI is a common interface to read and write from flashcarts like you would do in a normal Hard Drive. It's maybe one of the greatest additions from the homebrew development community. What's really good about it, is that it's compatible with a lot of flash carts through a patching system, so if you have, to say, a M3 simply, you just grab the homebrew, patch it, and voila, it's running flawlessly on your cart.

I guess Lino is adding it mainly to let homebrew developers work on Ideas like they would do on a real DS

That's nice (not to mention, that I own that flash cart, and what I use to test my programs for the DS). I guess you extracted the information from the DLDI R4 patch?

It depends on the time needed for perfection of the emu. Upgrading your PC or buying a new one isnt going to help cuz of the massive load passed on the the CPU and GPU(i guess) wont become smaller. For example: You try to play a game with both 2D and 3D all over the place on iDeaS. Now cuz its simple 2D and lil more difficult 3D you would expect it to be like ePSXe but it isnt. Here some reasons: 1) 2 screens to emulate always slows down the place but look at NO$GBA and it runs full-speed so think of that massive load. 2) As emulation isnt perfected there will be some bugs too that the emu will try to compensate by slowing itself down for a lil extra availible CPU.

Thats about it i guess but im no emu expert but chances are high(plz dont flame me if im wrong plz dont).

Actually as optimisation improves and coding improves so will the load placed on a PC so I am sure it will be playable on slightly older PC's later on.
During an emu's early development, 3D is usually rendered fairly inefficiently, but as development goes on that rendering can improve. So there is no way to say yet what future requirements will be.

but when it is fully implemented it will be easy to emulate at normal speed because normal pc games which have 3d graphics work perfectly on the same pc
