EMULATION ROCKS MY SOCKS!

When i use iDeaS i just get really crappy sound, very slow speeds, and low game compatibility. However [not to offend], I get much better everything w/ no$gba 2.6a.
I don't wanna blame the emulator itself. My Specs are: ATI Radeaon Xpress 1100 512 mB RAM 37 gB Hard Drive 3.07 gHz CPU, Intel Celenron D Windows XP Home Edition SP2 Is there anything i need to add to iDeaS, like plugins, to get the great quality everyone says it has? PS. I'm using the iDeaS verson 1.0.2.2. I really wanna try iDeaS at its full potential! |

Celeron D processors are very slow in modern terms, so your result is to be expected with the current iDeaS. DS emulators need quite a fast CPU at this stage. No$GBA has extensive optimisations, so runs faster right now.

Guys, please stop reporting whenever someone complains about an emulator not working nicely on him, it isn't against the rules and he isn't insulting it.
Put the competition aside and we have tons of posts like this in the PCSX2 section, don't take things too hardly.

umm, probably not the best place to be asking this question for one, and i believe a video card helps more then onboard, so unless you bought your laptop with a vid card in it and arent struggling with the onboard, it wont get too good. as well as laptops running at lower speeds almost all the time unless you set it to the highest speeds, and besides, the laptop cpu's are worse then the desktop's cpu's in general. because personally, on my lappy with a 1.8 intel core2, it runs worse then my p4 desktop.. so yea

while onboard graphics probably dont help, as with most emulators, the major factor is having a quick CPU. The Celeron D is taking the brunt from 2 directions. For one its based on pentium 4 which was quite a slow architecture, then it has very limited cache memory which can be useful for preparing data for the emu's execution.
all in all he would have been better off with a pentium 3 ;p
