Question IDeaS being slow

I've been having some problems with IDeaS being too slow.
I've got:

Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit system
Intel(R) Pentium(R) D CPU 3.40GHz
2047MB (2GB) RAM
NVidia GeForce 7600 GS card

My Emulator Settings:
DLDI: AceKard RPG SD
Exp. Ram: Supercard CF/SD
OpenGL Plugin: Everything enabled and Multisample 4x
---
Audio Resampling Quality: 44100Hz (Sterio)
Syncronize (best quality)

I hope it can be helped, at least slightly. If not please recommend the areas I should upgrade my computer, since I was thinking of upgrading it soon.

Also, the sound is abit choppy, what can I do to make it at least a little better? I've got the v1.0.0.5 audio plugin since i've heared it gives less problems than the new v1.0.0.9.
Which one and what settings do you recommend?

Thanks....

if you wanna update your rig :
CPU.. get an Core 2 duo proc

i;ve tested the new iDeas (1.0.2.2) n my laptop, T5500, intel C0re 2 duo 1.66Ghz with 1GB of RAM @ 667Mhz... got almost constant at 60 fps (well mostly 50-60) on dragon quest IV

if you go for core 2 duo on desktop, you'll get even more

it seem that the openGL plugin still using CPU power though (am i wrong??) coz i'm only using intel GMA 950 on my laptop, and it run quite well..

Don't upgrade just for an emulator....

Also an emulator which is still under heavy development being slow is nothing new...

Ignore him Lino as you can see he has already earned himself a ban.
