graphics card woes
hey. I'm a total noob when it comes to configuring and assembling graphics cards on pcs, so I asked a pal of mine to help me out. after the 8600 gt was put up, there were still 2 wires left: one with both ends having pins, while the other with one end having a pin, and the other end divided into three multi-colored video outputs. my pal couldn't figure out where they went, and while assembling the card, he took out this thin metal strip from the cpu (one among many such strips) to insert the card. was this done okay? the card seems to work fine though. (and whats an hdmi output?)
thanks in advance.

Ok, this is kinda a guessing game,
both ends having pins: S-video Cable 3 Divided cable: Either Composite cable or component cable. HDMI video card does not have hdmi port, they have Component cables included. Also, that thin metal strip is not from your cpu, it is from your chasis, and your card is inserted into the motherboard, not the cpu. The CPU is a chip that is mounted on your motherboard with a heatsink on top

From what I can see, your video card has an HDMI output (flat, almost like a USB port)? Correct me if I'm wrong.
![]() The cable with one end having pin and the other having three inputs is the component cable used to connect to HDTVs. The rest has been explained.
