I am going to upgrade my graphics card so I was wondering which card will work better with pcsx2:

Radeon HD 2600 PRO 512 MB or
Radeon X1650 XT 256 MB

Thanks!

wait for Jan 2008 for DX 10.1 which is supposed to be the gaming platform. DX 10 is just the software for Aero interface of Vista.It will be shipped with Vista service pack 1.
Or if you cant wait get Radeon HD 2600 PRO 512 MB.

Yes but what you said is incorrect.

Quote:
DX 10 is just the software for Aero interface of Vista.
Its hardly a massive upgrade, its rather small, and in fact its mostly just settings standards for devs.
Quote:
* Mandatory 32-bit floating point filtering
* Mandatory 4x anti-aliasing
* Shader model 4.1
And its backwards compat with DX10 cards....

The type of ram on a card has no relation to the DX version is supports. (IE there are DDR2 DX10 cards).

@oldclone we have a hardware section, I will move this thread there as the better card will give you better performance and this is not directly related to PCSX2.

If u have the money, get either an HD 3850 (About $180) or a HD 3870 (About $230)

Both have support for DX10

You need a fast and balanced comp for PS2 emulation. Buying a medicore card now won't fix things on long term. I would wait for PCIe 2.0 boards to cheapen and then pick an acceptable OC model to combine it with something "preiswert", fast and on PCIe 2.0.

Buy Nvidia. Currently ASUS 8600GT is better than 2600Pro or other 8600GT's
or get MSI 8800GTS
