Do you use blu-ray media often?? Worth it?

It seems that the Blu-Ray drives have decreased in price but the media that is used to record information doesn't seem that way though. I find it a lot easier to just get harddrives and backing up on the USB 2.0 which in speed wise isn't too bad.

I have gotten USB harddrives 160GB for 50 bucks and under before. With blue ray its 16 bucks for only 25GB and we are talking only about blue ray minus.

The price of the blu-r drive itself ranging from 150-200 bucks seem kinda fair but the media that it runs on is giving me some mixed feelings because there are so many methods of backing up an operating system in cheaper ways...

Btw speaking of harddrives, do you think its good to install games on a 2.0 USB harddrive?? My internal drives are lacking in space. So far I ran COD4 on the 2.0 USB external and didn't notice slowdown. Did you experience the same? Although I don't know if that has to do with the fact that I have 3 GB of ram.

But I guess blu-ray is necessary for some things but the program designers often sell DVD alternatives for those who don't have blu-ray drives.

At least it's backward compatible with dvd and cd. Sooner or later, the price will fall for both media storage and hardware/blue ray burner so yeah, blue ray FTW!

I remember back in the day when a 100 pack of dvds costed around 100 dollars when it was new , now I get em far cheaper . I can't wait till blueray comes down in price some more, I for one will get one .
