keyboard lag / The WAR beggins...

Now i know how my problem is called (previosly discuissed in the "controls stop working" topic). So what do we gamers have in arsenal stored for the keyboard lag.

So the keyboard lag, is when controls stop working for a short period. This started to happen after i installed a new sound card and 5.1 sound surrount system.

1) Setting game.exe to above normal priority makes it worse.
2) Setting explorer.exe to above normal priority sometimes helps, but not allways.
3) Closing ATI tray tools didn't help much. (as well as some other programs)
4) This is happening only in cs/ns (hl.exe/valve), other games work fine.

Cs is unplayable at the moment, need your support! Maybe the problem's in the PSU, or maybe i need a new keyboard?

Continuing the WAR against the KBL.

first go to start>run> type "dxdiag" without the quotes. check the input tab, run the tests and see if there is any conflicts. also if you say it happened after you installed a sound card, check and see what IRQs they are set to. to do this go to device manager, at the "view" tab at the top, click on the "resources by type" and then "IRQ". if they are listed on the same IRQ try and set them to separate ones. if none of that works then the only thing i can think of is to check for the latest drivers for your keyboard. what type of keyboard are you using anyway, wireless or what?

you need to increase the priority of any program that has keyboard hooks

which means a painstaking task of going through each one and finding out what stops the lag and what causes.

did the same using an ol version of DOG before the application exclusion list was put in.

Dxdiag - everything OK.
IRQ - no luck too.
Drivers lol I found the 5.1.2600.1106 drivers on a microsoft-like site, and it was on many other sites, while i have 5.1.2600.2880 or smthing like that

Standard 101/102-Key or Microsoft Natural PS/2 Keyboard

Squall-Leonhart, yeah... I allready heard that one, but first of all: setting this every time you play... Second: It's kind of a noob way to fix this (and i'm not realy a noob ). Third

Now i'm 100% sure on this one. Just tested it. It causes a lot less lag, but they still presist. And since

Squall-Leonhart's way doesn't work anymore...
