Need a few suggestions
Im planning on improving my current pc while I wait a few months to build an entirely new one. I dont want to spend too much as I need as much as I can for my new pc build, so Im hoping to do is the following:
-New socket 939 CPU, obviously dual-core. -Passive CPU heatsink, I have a cheap watercooling setup but its not much to write home about, mainly cus its very noisy, so I'd rather have a very small or possibley no over-clock on the cpu, as long as it's quiet. -Another GB of RAM. -Replace both 80mm fans with quiter ones. -Get a new disc drive as mine has finally given up and crapped out on me. -Also, Id like to replace the HSF on both of my 6800 GS's with quieter ones, or at least better ones, thats a bit vauge but hopefull you all get my meaning I have a limit of about 250-300 pounds, I would have typed a pound symbol but on this pc, some keys dont work right and it comes up with # instead Any advice on how I can go about any of this is greatly appriciated. Cheers

I'd recommend you try and work on that watercooling setup.
Why is it noisy? Is it the pump or the fans? In the end watercooling is the best way to keep the processor cool and quiet, seeing you want a dual core. You might be able to switch the fans on that 6800's, see if you can undervolt them. Good luck
