Geforce 8600GT PCIe X16 slot (Max X4 mode)?

Anyone know if that card work on a board with a PCIe X16 slot running at max speed x4 mode.

erm, it will run with X16, why do you want X4 ?

It should be backwards compatible, so yes it should work.

Im not sure, but ive heard the 8x series have some problems with pci-e 4x only boards....

As far as I know, PCI-E v1 video cards should work with PCI-E v2. The reverse would also be true.
