Exclamation immediate help needed

now here is the scenario

as some of u might know i back up my data in dvds.today i wanted to retrive some data back and when i inserted the dvd the system says it could not copy the files on hdd coz of some "cyclic data reduncy......" .i removed the disk and put it back again and now when i start it the system isnt able to read the dvd!!! i tired everything from reloading cd/dvd drivers and resstarting my system but it works for no effects

so here is the quetion is there any method by which i can retrive my data>>its a heavily scratched dvd<<

please please help me

EDIT:: IT IS STOOPING ONLY ON ONE FOLDER SO I THINK ITS A BAD SECTOR SO IS THERE ANYWAY TO SAVE MY DATA???????

The thing is it may read it on 1000th try. those programs just try to read VERY long time. Also another DVD drive may help altho drive which burned DVD is mostly best at reading it back.

you can remove scratches with stuff at home

check this page out

MCS Tech Support - Remove CD Scratchs

there are more items you can use, like Brasso i think was a popular one (brass cleaner) or Silver Polish.

seems like so. I would have never believed if someone told me some of things ppl in these forums are using.

As I keep my CD/DVDs safe they mostly just stop working without scratches... (sun or who knows)

shafeen If You can report back what did You used and result, I'm curious.

And you're sure the data was burnt properly from the beginning?

Also try it in different drives in my experience dvd writers can read much better than a dvd combo drive and i think plextor drives are good in reading but they are too expensive for me also try this dvd recovery program

CD, DVD, BD and HD DVD File Data Rescue / Recovery software)

You can also try the Skip Doctor CD/DVD repair Kits available at most retail electronics stores. These kits allow you to litterally shave layers off the CD/DVD thereby decreasing the depth of scratches. It's worked many times on "reduncy errors" with my DVD's/Cd's.

try alcohol 120%, iirc it tries to reread bad sectors very thoroughly, and if some parts isn't recoverable it tries its best to rebuild the data.

nothing is worse than data copying beeing aborted because one single ****ing sector is a little flawed... it really kills me.

Try Stellar Phoenix CDRom Data Recovery Software It Provides recovery of data and file, lost due to unreadable, scratched, corrupt or defective CD media.
Download the demo from:CD Data File Recovery Software - Stellar Phoenix
See if the demo shows the recovered data or not. If it does then it means you can get back your data.
