sixaxis reciever

I recently set up my ps3 controller on my windows PC. It works great, but is there a bluetooth reciever that works with it so I can make use of the wireless function?

does it not detect using a standard bluetooth adapter?

and also, you say it works wired? so that puts out the speculation that it works as wireless all the time

Would a regular bluetooth reciever work for a controller? Could someone direct me to one I could use with the ps3 controller?

I bought a bluetooth 2.0 usb dongle adapter but it won't detect the sixaxis. I know it's working cause it picks up my phone. Is there a special driver I can download that adds wireless function to the ps3 controller?

yes a standard adapter should do it because if a standard adapter can catch wiilamotes signal it should work for the ps3 controllers also a both of them work on bluetooth signals

From what I read they only work on the PC if you use the USB cable and special drivers.

edit:
I just took a sixaxis controller and tested that, it would only work with special drivers, the motion sensing doesn't work at all and the button mapping is strange, you would be better off with a PS2 controller and a USB adapter.

Speaking of using it wirelessly, according to the manual the Sixaxis uses Bluetooth but so far the only way I have found to use it on the PC is to use a USB cable.

Yeah, that's why I'm trying to find a bluetooth enabled driver. Does anyone know if anyone in the emu community is working on this? I figured it would be old news by now, but I guess not. I'd be surprised if no one was trying to make it happen, though.

It hasn't been that long since the release of the PS3 so it may take some time before it becomes reality.
