Swapping ram question

hey ii have a question. Im about to buy a new 2x1gb ram set, which will replace my computers 2x256mb ram and i want to give my old ram to my friend, whos computer came from dell, with 256mb of RDram, which is 184-pin. i was wondering if hiscomputer would be compatibible with my ram, if i replaced the rdram with the ddr2 ram. thanks.

No, to my knowledge it will not, best way to know is google his exact model and find out which motherboard he has. Google the motherboard and see if it can handle DDR RAM.

DDR2 is 230-pin and DDR1 is 184-pin so the 2 cannot go together because it's not compatible.
