Umm you should be able to, however I would avoid buying a celeron, buy a P4 or an AMD64..

pre,it can run newer titles, as long as its paired with a good RAM and video card

Yeah, but expect general slow performance where there is no apparant reason for it to be that way. Celeron processors are budget CPU's and are considered... slow...
But since you've already bought it, let's make the best of it. I too think it should be able to run most titles up-to-date although games like oblivion will be laggy if you are in a place with a lot of people, also black and white 2 will be laggy if you get many many people . But that shouldn't be a worry, all other games i know of should run pretty well on it.

Anything that would use CPU cache would choke that CPU. Basically, think of anything that increases the amount of variables that need to be tracked quickly in a game. Oblivion would have tonnes of this with all of its quest interactions and AI. Anything with a good physics engine. Anything (if such still exists) that plays MIDI files (bizarre, but true).

Anything short of that and it will probably run.
