What is PCI Express x8 ?

i have Biostar 915 PCIED, it has 2 PCI Express slot, my question is :
1. Can i run SLI with my mobo?
the first slot is x16, but the second slot named PCIEX-ED...
2. What is Semi SLI?

1. Yes (check the videocards and make sure it supports it , and get the right drivers and such..)
2. Maybe just a single card or a single card with Dual GPUs (never heard of Semi SLI)

You can run SLi on that board when you run it with one card the slot is 16X when you use SLI both slots are running at 8X.
It's been a while since I encountered someone with a question about Biostar hardware since I moved here, i recomend using some other Mobo, I had a few friends in Malaysia who had thier Biostar Mobos explode by itself

last question,
1. Is intel 915pl chipset support SLI things ?
2. What the diference beetween i915P, i915PL, and i915GV chipset.
3. Can mobo with SLI Ready means Crossfire Readytoo?

cross fire is for ati cards only,sli is for nvidia.

Either a motherboard support SLI or Crosfire but not both

Well I have heard that some boards support both, but SLI is in some software
field (maybe that is a Semi SLI???).

It is possible to use Crossfire or SLi (with modded drivers, not widely available as yet though) on Intel's Conroe-ready D975XBX "Bad Axe" motherboard.

PCI-E x1 slots can be used for things such RAID, USB 2.0, Firewire and SATA cards.
