keyboard question

I just noticed that my keyboard (the one I'm using currently, havent been using it for that long) won't do a keyboard combination of left cursor + up cursor + space (or B or N or F or G).
I use this odd key combo in quite a few MSX games. Tried it on another computer and there it didnt work either (using a different keyboard too). It does work on my laptop, but if I connect my keyboard to that it has the same issue.

So, it's safe to say it's in the keyboard, not the computer, and that the only 2 keyboards I have here atm (one not being mine) have the same issue.

Are there workarounds for this? Or should I just buy a good new keyboard (I hate stuff like this =P )....
also, any keyboard brands where I'm sure not to run into **** like this?

USB Keyboard should be able to do this I think. Of course it's not worth buying a new keyboard just for that, change the combo.

USB makes no difference, all they do there is change the interface, not the input circuitry.

Unfortunately, you're probably going to have to do what the rest of us do and just "roll the dice" whenever you buy a keyboard and hope that the combinations work. Alternatively, you could go into Best Buy or some place similar, walk up to the computers that are already up and running, try your key combinations, then say "I'll take that keyboard" when you find one that's acceptable.

Way back in the '90s I did some extensive searching to find a way to determine what keys worked and what did not before buying... and came up empty. Haven't looked since, so there may be stuff out there now. Good luck.
