SoulPad--Even PCs have a soul

Quote:
SoulPad is a portable storage device containing the software stack shown below. The three-layer SoulPad software stack enables a paradigm of mobile computing where a user can suspend his computing environment on one PC and resume it on another PC that he may have never seen before. The PC boots an auto-configuring operating system from the SoulPad, starts a virtual machine monitor, and resumes a suspended virtual machine that has the user's entire personal computing environment, which includes the user's files, user's operating system, installed applications, desktop configuration as well as all running applications and open windows.
More info here

Seems to be useful huh?

buy an external usb2.0 hd, and isntall knoppix and vmware inside, and you will get the same (dunno about the price of that).

BTW: check the diagram: USB 2.0 harddisk + knoppix + vmware + your os... so it's exactly that. ^_^

The Book and other stories:
Tears of Fantasy - An Online Book... by ME!
MetaLife, Inc. (intro)
SubGaea (intro)
Crow Blade (intro for now)
Memories - Prayer from the fallen hearts.

My weblog... not like if there was too much to read on it tho.
For anyone interested, there's a mirc script which converts "/me 's" into " * nickname's whatever" and adds a nice "/my" command.

Can't you do basically that now, with just Knoppix and a USB key, have it use the USB key for ~?

Or, if you have a decent network connection wherever you go, you could use FreeNX.
