Cool upgrade pc ?

im going to upgrade my computer in the next 2 weeks. but im not sure about some things. im going to get one of the new intel 775's but i herd that that the motherboards have DRM buit into them. Is it true ? As for the cpu im not sure if i should go with the Celeron D or just go for the Pentium. Or should I just upgrade my 478 ?

Most people here will probably tell you to go the AMD route. What do you plan on using the computer for, and how much are you expecting out of it? Going from your current Pentium4 to a Celeron would be a downgrade if you'll be doing any gaming. It's fine for internet and such, but media and gaming will take a hit with a celeron. The graphics card could use some improvements as well. Lastly, how much are you willing to spend? Unless you know you want to go with Intel, you can get a pretty good AMD setup reasonably cheap.

a few months ago i wud say get an athlon64 just cuz it offers such a big performance/price advantage but now with the macosx being compatible (and demonstrated installable!) on a pentium4 intel chip, id say go get the new intels just to keep your doors open ^__^

i plan to use it mainly for linux but play games every know and then. im going with a PCI-E card for sure. I dont wanna spend too much or too little. i wanna get something that will last me like 5 years or so. I'll go and check out the amds but im leaning more towards intel.
