6800NU -> Real 6800GT?
Hey, I know the 3 main differences between NU and GT...
NU: DDR1, Lower clock speed, 12 pipelines GT: GDDR3, Higher clock speeds, 16 pipelines So, I was thinking, on a regular 6800NU, even at GT speeds and pipelines, there would still have the RAM type to tell it's NU. I got my softmod to work 100% fine without artifacts, I'm thinking of overclocking it after summer, so I checked for some extra details about my card: First, I noticed that my POV card was made by Asus (V9999), below, I says that my card uses GDDR3 memory! Is it an error from the software or Asus makes all cards with GDDR3 chips? POV sells tuned down V9999 Gamer Edition cards?

My Leadtek 6800nu reports that as well. Although I know that this card just has DDR1.
I'm gonna guess that all the 6800 series GPUs have a GDDR3 bus? But are backwards compatibly with DDR1 or something? So no need to make two different GPUs for the lower and higher end cards? That would explain why its reporting GDDR3... EDIT: I will admit I don't know alot about Nvidia as this my first nv card.

Well, I ask this cause I know that V9999 GE use GDDR3 (even though they're not GT/Ultra) instead of DDR1
Let's see what someone else will say

Yeah it seems we both had the luck to get a successful softmod,
as for the RAM, if yours says DDR and mine GDDR3, I can say that I'm lucky for once, I can turn it to a real 6800GT It also explains why it runs on my cheap 300w PSU without underclocking, GDDR3 uses less power. Good thing heh, I can keep all my drives in ![]() BTW, what are the default clock speeds on the GT? (the standard GT, no the pre-OC ones)

OK thx >> is this what you have..? Nope, I have a 6800NU from Point of View, a brand that seems to sell cut down version of GT cards. I couldn't show you a site, it looks like the brand is mostly know in Europe :s

Yup it's this one, though on my box there's a sticker that says it has DDR3 memory ...
BTW, I just noticed that panel in my driver CP, I checked Enable, is it safe?
