The Official Benchmark and Comparison Thread!

Ok! After talking with Demigod. I decided it'd be an excellent chance to do some benchmark and comparisons. The purpose of this thread is to flex the mighty E-pen0s. Well that and its just good fun and comparison. Also an excellent place to discuss various benchmarks and there reflection of current hardware.

Rules

1: When posting your scores and benchmarks. Be sure to post your system settings when taking the bench.

2: Be honest about your image settings! Level of Detail, Performance Mipmaps ect!

3: Try and use widely available benchmarks so its possible to compare! All for ingame benchmarks but they dont usually create reproducable results across various machines.

Some starting benchmark choices

3dmark01SE
3dmark03
3dmark05
Aquamark
Doom 3 Timedemo
Aquamark
Final Fantasy XI benchmark
CodeCreatures
PCmark

There is definately more software out there but these are just few comparable ones that come to mind! Let the benching begin!

Catalyst 5.4, Via Hyperion 4.56. All default driver settings (high quality LOD), no FSAA/Aniso, default said bench program options, system as shown in sig. Probably would be a tiny bit better had this been a clean install.. I haven't formatted in almost a year, and have went through a lot of different HW. I do however keep my drivers/Windows very clean, so it could also be worse.

Will do more later & update this post.

1) Prime 95 10ms-59ms.

2) 5250 PCMark 04.

3) 18838 3DMark 01.

4) Vana'Diel Bench 3 High Resolution - 4225. Can't take a shot.. it comes out as "FFXi Quit."

5) 48,663 Aquamark 3.

Cool. Can you make your independent tests visible for your benchmarking scores? Like 3dmar2k1 I mean and PCmark.

Well, here's my 3DMark03 score. It's not anything compared to Chrisray's SLI rig but... I'm.. happy with it... *goes to the corner *

Also took PCMark04 and AquaMark scores

Yeah, I'll retake them later on and post the independent results.

I'm also ordering a new board from Newegg tomorrow (Refurbished GIGABYTE GA-8IG1000PRO-G 865G/ICH5).. going with an 865G based board because it's always nice to have onboard video as a backup, and it's the same as the 865PE.. not to mention Gigabyte's Dual Bios feature, gigabit LAN, 1394, etc. I'll prolly push my CPU back up to 3.80GHz again as I had it with my Albatron PX865PE Pro (ASRock's boards are not a bit OC friendly) and rebench.

Good thread.

Here are my results, ran at my everyday overclock on the CPU and stock on the Radeon, but set to Optimal Performance in the Control Panel.

Also had a few programs running in the background.

Got my new mobo in the mail today, and it's wonderful. Overclocks better than any board I've had and has tons of tweaking options.

Gonna hit 3.8 and I'll rebench everything..

Heh, yeah D.D., haven't been able to get a 120MM.. but I will one day, I promise! Anyone notice my 1337 SpiderMan temporary tattoo on the side of my case window? I got it from a box of fruitsnacks.. you'd be suprised how good temporary tattoos are for PC decorations. On the case material they're almost impossible to get off.. not really temporary.

Can't get 3.8GHz stable with anything under 1.7V (I'm trying to stay under 1.7V for the CPU because of S.N.D.S..) but 3.66GHz is perfectly stable @ 1.6V. I'll rebench and post my results at 3.66 later on.

So far I've tested with 3DMark 2001 and SPECviewperf 8.01 (trippy and very long benchmark). I'll finish running the other benchmarks tomorrow . My system specs are in my signature and my video card isn't overclocked. I probably will run through everything again with it clocked at 410/1100. All three graphics optimizations listed in the nVidia driver control panel are disabled. I just noticed how close cooliscool's 2001 score is to mine; they're almost identical .

Edit: Added 3DMark 2003/2005, PCMark 2004, and Prime95 results. I forgot to mention I'm running the beta 76.45 ForceWare drivers.

21205 in 3DMark '01 with my new mobo and my CPU @ 3.7GHz! High quality driver preference.. same settings as my previous result in this thread. Also a nice new P95 bench result. Not gonna bother with '03 or '05 due to the fact that it would be basically the same as any other rig with a 9800 Pro in it.

Here's a different one - how fast does Tekken 3 run in MAME without frame limit or frame skipping on your hardware? It's extremely CPU intensive and by nature of the driver optimizations prefers AMD CPUs.. I'm pretty curious to see as to how it fares on everyone's CPUs, as results with T3 are pretty scattered across the board.

68-75 of 60FPS w/o limit.

3.8GHz! Had to loosen up the RAM timings and raise the vcore, but it's worth it.

Just 200MHz and I'm at the tabooed 4GHz mark.. I probably won't stay at 3.8 in fear of S.N.D.S.

As far as stability goes, at 1.7V it seems stable; however, that could easily change. Here's some Sandra and Prime95 benches, more to follow.
