Hooking Up A Modem
I am trying to send a fax from my computer, but when using software like mightyfax or WindowsXP's built in fax services I get errors saying there is no dial tone.
I have it setup as so: Wall > Phone Line(in) > Modem > Phoneline(Out) > Phone. I am able to use the phone and hear a dial tone, aswell as dialing a number and recieving an answer. Later, I think it started to recieve a normal phone call because it kicked in and started into the normal modem noises. What am I doing wrong?

Run a diagnostic on the modem to see if it's responding correctly.
Also make sure that the phone line is plug into the correct port at the back of the modem if there are more than one port. |
