For a more intimate gaming experience, a maximum of 16 PSP systems can be connected wirelessly through the ad-hoc mode allowing family and friends to create an instant yet powerful local on-line entertainment community. PSP features an integrated high output lithium-ion battery that provides play time of between 4 and 6 hours for game titles and continuous 4 to 5 hours for video viewing. (SCEI actual measurement) With PSP, the world of PlayStation, peoplefs most favorite platform, is further enhanced. To accompany the launch of the PSP system, a total of 21 game titles from SCE and third party software developers and publishers will be released by the end of this year. In addition to these titles, over 100 exciting new titles are currently in development. Innovative titles using the unique features of PSP, as well as PSP versions of hit titles that have been the drivers of the PlayStation platform will continuously be introduced. Entertainment software of an entirely new category mixing game, music and video on a single UMD is expected to be released in spring 2005, further enriching the world of PSP. I would never play a game for longer than 4 hours - if that. But I can understand fot those crazy gamers For me it would be play a game for about 3 hours, go home, plug it back in, then i'm ready to go either later that day or the next I'm too busy to play for that large amount of time.

I think 4-6 hours is more than enough considering that they bundle the ac adaptor and will probably make a car adapter so i'm satisfied.

The console is going to be priced 185$, for the console and the AC charger.
Sony is going to release a "Value Pack" which contains a spare battary, a memory stick(32mb), Earphones, protective cover and a handle(see pic.)
for what will cost in total 232$. This may be good, but...

Well the value pack is intended for those who want the most out of their console like the extra batteries and stuff, but I, god willing, will buy the console only and maybe wait for the other peripherals for later on.

That's the route i'm going as well. I don't really like teh case or headphones. I see no need for the carrying strap either.

I'm sure there will be better looking cases and also nicer headphones to be released later.

There's gonna be tons of games for it. Can't really find a good complete list right now, but there is over 200 titles in development right now.

By plug games in I guess yes. Games will be on a new cartidge-like-cd called a UMD (Universal Media Disc) It's about the size of a mini disc if you ever seen one of those and has the same concept. It will hold 1.8gb of data on a dual layered one.

It will be 100 times better than a GBA. I will be able to play Movies, music, display pictures and of course games! It will have Wifi through 802.11b and can have multiplayer games up to 16 players.

As for graphics go to Gamespot's PSP Game list and looks at some screenshots to see just what it is capable of. There are also some free videos you can stream.

Hope that answers most of your questions.

I know I already said this in previous PSP threads but one of the things I'm hoping for are some emulators that will run on PSP so I can take Zsnes and others with me anywhere I go Either way I'm definitely buying a PSP and am seriously thinking of ordering it from LikSand

In all actuality if possible - I could see emu's for the PSP being made to play games from Genesis, NES, SNES etc .. All games with those graphics. Anything higher would be doubtful, but you never know.

I really hope that emu's could be made for the PSP. W00t!

No that's a movie for the PSP being released on UMD Not a game

Well a psp emulator was already created by Sony. So we know it can be done. It was running on a Windows XP based machine IIRC. We just need to "borrow" it
