Front Pannel Problems USB/Firewire Port

I have a Front Pannel USB / Firewire Port. The Usb port doesnt really work well.. everything i plug into it is never reconized correctly and windows always tells me its an unknown device. The Setup for my motherboard is really weird. I have 2 FP Usb Ports. FP USB HDR 1/2 . I just plugged the usb jack into the 1st one. Would it have something to do with the fact those two ports are 1.1 that would be causing problems?

and regarding the front pannel firewire port.

I have a Firewire Card. I plugged in the 1394 Plug into the appropriate spot. ( the only thing i can plug it into) And Its not picking anything up. its acting like its not their.

My mobo's a intel D865Perl

Try reversing the way you plugged the cables into.

I did the same thing and got the symptoms you're describing.

Flipping the 1394 / USB Plugs around? (ie plugging the usb port into the firewire card and the 1394 into the fp usb 1 header? that would only make it think my firewire is a usb port. it still wont install anything properly anyway
