Exclamation CDRW Drive Pobs

when ever i read a cd with any kind of data on i listen to an mp3 and i get sound brake ups and its started recording slower... my dvd rom drive works fine with these cds no brake ups. also when i copy data off the CDRW drive like an MP3 no sound brake ups also same with watch divx movies etc please help?

How old is your CD RW?

Sounds like your laser is gettin weaker due to wear and tear. You might have to get a new burner later on.

You need to clean up your CDrw. Try to clean with cd head cleaner
(i cant tell but for sure it has small brush on cd surface)

Or maybe its your dma? Check if its enabled. Xp autoset it but its not set the optimal way. Having the same problems myself i had to unplug my dvd-rom and cd-rw and plug them in different order just to get them dma and not pio enabled.

no i fixed it i just unistall my ide and reinstalled it cheers anyway
