Xbox Repairs

To those who actualy know something about these drives..

i have the old thompson drive in my xbox. its vibrating a hell of alot more than it should. and i can hear the damn thing spinning too. (Im not exactly sure what model number the drive is) but these are the drives that first came with the xbox. anyone know whats wrong with it? im starting to think the hard spinning is scratching up my discs cuz after i take one out its scratched up rather well too..

help?

Can't you install a new hard drive inside the Xbox?

The Xbox IDE cable looks the same as a PC one.

I believe he's talking about the DVD-ROM drive.
