Best way to switch DSL ISP with minimal downtime?
Beh I had this all typed up and hit the "submit new thread" button and it gave me the wonderful server is upgrading message. I guess I 'll just type this again. Here goes.
My parents have grown tired of spending $50 a month for DSL so I said I'd switch from Earthlink to Verizon to save us $15 a month. Now my question is how can I do this so that I don't get 2-3 weeks downtime. Or will I not get down time? Also how should I go about doing this? Call earthlink and tell them I want to cancel? And then what..... Currently when I go to Verizon.net to enter the phone for checking DSL availability it says I have it therefore not allowing me to sign up for it in the first place. Hmm so confusing, but I'm sure someone else has changed broadband ISPs before so if they could tell me what's first I'd appreciate it. Also if this should be in a different section, please move it. Thanks Vio

i would say that you need to call up verizon and see what they can do....they might be nicer since you are paying for their stuff..
OR you can call earthlink, maybe they'll give you some free months... (like AOL, those douches). |
