AMD/Intel vs nVidia/ATi
After reading the vs. posts, I was wondering what video cards do AMD/Intel fans use. I use AMD and nVidia, just from past experiences (an Intel blue up on me and an ALL-IN-WONDER wouldn't install for me)

i had a p4 1.6 back then, it was also an unlocked proc. (got it for free from my sister who works as an electrical enginner at intel) sold the proc for $200, and got myself a 2000+ (palomino) and this was last year... i had a ti4200 on that 1.6... the same ti4200 that i'm using for my 2000+ (thoroughbred, my soyo kt333 board got messed up... screwed up.. screw driver sliiped while installing a cpu fan, fry's had a cpu and mobo deal... funny thing was that the mobo was cheaper getting it with a proc than w/o, that's why i have the k7s5a pro right now.)
what if you have all of them at the top? both intel and nv, intel and ati, amd and nv, amd and ati?

As you can see, I have an Athlon 2100XP and a nVidia GeForce3 Ti500. My previous setup was Athlon 1500XP with the same gfx card (I kept my whole system, including mobo, and just upgraded the CPU). Before that I had the Athlon 1500XP with a GeForce256, so I guess that's once again, Athlon/nVidia combo. Before THAT I had an Intel/nVidia combo, but only for a very brief time... that same GeForce256 with a PIII 450... but that was only for like 2 weeks (I soon upgraded to the Athlon 1500XP)... My ORIGINAL rig was that Intel PIII 450... it was a Dell and came with a Voodoo III 2000 (I think)... so that would be Intel/3dfx I suppose.
Haven't had an ATi card yet, but next time I upgrade, I'll probably go ATi cause I think they're more cost effective (more bang for the buck) and finally they have pretty good driver support (I was hesitant to get ATi for a long time cause I think the nVidia driver support was much better - but now I think ATi has really improved in that department and is pretty good).

as you can see in my computer profile below i was AMD and Nvidia, but i havent updated it to my new PC specs(to lazy) but my new specs is a P4 2.8(ht) 800mhz fbs with a geforce FX 5950 ultra 256mb which makes me a intel and nvidiea base now, i figured i would try intel this roudn because i had amd on my last 2 computers and figured i would give intel a chance to prove what they got

Well I'm a staunch AMD supporter, as they give me the best bang for buck.
As far as graphics cards got, I love my old Voodoo 5, but obviously for today's games I have to use my geForce 3. I hated ATi from way back when during the time I had to use an ATi Rage 128/Voodoo combo. The ATi drivers hated having hte Voodoo installed, and hte 3d performance on it's own was abysma;l, not to mention half my system crashes at that time were ATi related. They have their act together now, but I have no intention of purchasing a new graphics card right now. I'd still likely go nVidia as they have served me so damned well in the past.

I have an AMD Athlon XP 2500+ overclocked to about 3000+ speeds (running @ 2.1 GHz) as well as an ATi Radeon 9500 Pro (non-overclocked). I'm very happy with my computer
. It is very fast, MUCH faster than my old 500 MHz K6-2 .

Well so far I am loving my semi-new AMD-ATI combo. Those just go together soooo much.

I have all the combinations... as i really don't care as long as i have the best bang for the buck. Some companies just don't deserve a hard earned dollar when they release an underperforming product.
right now i have an amd and nv as my main machine right now. it might change, as my sister might be able to get me a 3.2Ghz p4 for free ( i might end up selling it if i get it again like my 1.6 and with the profits get myself a better video card)... ooo the 5900se looks really good right now...

Was once an Intel/nVidia guy, but the 9500pro was simply irresistable that I'm now an Intel/aTi guy (and I'm proud of it!!)

Okay well I guess it is slightly different.
![]() Well I voted Intel and ATI. I guess I'm one of the few. But the combo works fine for me.

ahaha, well i also go with AMD and Nvidia.
AMD Duron 700 MHz and Geforce 4 mx440, both serve me excellently..so far very lil lags on games (because of processor), but im able to play everything that hits me .and yea me2 think nvidia rox, i know they have cheated..but why call it cheat when all thier doing is adjusting some gfx for better performance? o well..i wouldnt use forceware as the difference is very lil..id rather get the extra performance and just use aa and bang

Razor Blade - Oh ha ho, but it is different. Those are the posts I was talking about in my first post.
Yeloazndevil - I didn't put it in hardware discussion? So far my assumptions were right, AMD and nVidia go together.
