Choosing a MD Player

Im looking to buy a MiniDisc player sooner or later, and I was wondering if you could suggest some models for me. I took a look at sony's site, and they dont list very many, and the ones listed didnt appeal to me at all.

What im looking for is:
1. Remote Contol built into the headphone cord.
2. No skipping what so ever.
3. NO car kit.
4. USB Computer connectity

Also looking in the range of $150-200 CAD

hey... all of them has usb connectity... my sony mz-n505 came with the cord
and it has never skipped...
only thing you have to worry about is the remote part

btw... doesn't that shockwave headphones(ones the ones that goes behind)... the plug has that line part too right?? why not just buy those headphones and put it together with the md?

if you're looking @ sony's i think anything 'netMD' has the USB connectivity. but sony is not the best brand around. u might wanna check out sharp...from what i remember, they were the top brand when i was shopping around

Thanks, I will take a look at sharp.

I want the remote control on the headphone cord not just to do volume, but change tracks, play, pause, and stop too.

EDIT: The sharp ones look much better except for the anti-skip. Only 40 to 160 seconds

Okay I have a Sony, and it has all those things to mit, even without the car adapter. It also has USB connectivity. My MD is about 2 years old and doesn't skip one bit. Plus the new ones are made even better. Just get a cheap Sony MD. They are great.

Whatever you choose, you have to get netMD's. My netMd-less MD uses real time to record songs, and yeah it sucks

I plan on a net-md. I really want a headphone control. I hate having to dig into a pocket or something just to press the next track. I think I will have one brought in for me if anything. Im sure the store has more models than listed on their site.

the thing about netmd's though, is they have really crap software. i haven't made a new md in months cuz all of a sudden i can't get the software to transfer. so u might want to check that out too. netmd software is notorious.

Well I sure prefer having crappy software rather than waiting 74mins just to finish recording 1 MD.

I have an old old old Sony MZ-R55. Believe me, that thing is old, but here's my little story of why I love it so much, even though sometimes I wish I had a net MD.
I got the machine way back in Dec. 1998 in guess where, Akihabara. Obviously not the cheapest @ $450 but it was the newest MD recorder Sony had, In fact I even saw it in the Tokyo Sony building. Now why else is it so good? First off the recording quality is really excellent, (but aren't they all) but most importantly the rumor about buying electronics in Japan is true I "accidently" dropped it from about 5 feet high onto a ceramic tile floor and it was still playing, and still functions perfectly to this day. But the newer MD players are better in most respects, they're lighter (plastic not metal like mine), and WAY better battery life (mine's only 10 hours with 2xAA and a gum stick battery.

Bottom line is, get a sony.

yeah, i dunno why, but everytime i have to reinstall the software i have issues w/ it. Usually i can sort it out in a few days, but this time around i've been stuck w/out functioning net md software for a while...and this is coming off a reformat, so i'm totally stumped. already installed and reinstalled the software multilple times, removed entries from the registry, etc, etc, but still no go.
