9500 64MB or Ti4200?

I am looking for a new card to retire my GF2MX...

The Radeon 9500 NP 64 MB ($72) is $10 more than the GeForce 4 ti 4200 128MB ($63)...

the Ti 4200 has more memory but the 9500 has a 50% chance to mod to a 9500 pro which can increase performance by 50%...

which one i should go for? I was thinking about the Radeon 9700 pro for $165, but after figuring my poor financial status I will pass on that.

it's not actually a random chance to mod, you need to make sure you get the right one. so check it out before you buy it, a 9500-->9700 is better than a ti4200

9600Pro vs Ti4400 who would win then without AA(I knot the Radeon would win with AA)

if you are lucky the 9500 turns in a 9700 or in a 9500pro. Also the 9500 is dx9

if you can find a decent price on a 9600xt it will come with a voucher for a *FREE* copy of Half-life 2

I would say go for 9500 Pro for dx9 capabilities. If you just want speed and ram, go for the 4200.

Damn hell right. I had to search all over KL, and could only get my 9500pro in ONE shop

the 9500 is still a damn sight faster than a ti4200 with fsaa and af on.

A Radeon9500 and up would smoke a Ti with FSAA and AF but without maybe they're even
