Help with Ps2
I just got a ps2 for christmas yay. It came with a modem adapter to go on the back. Well my question is what type of cable should i use to run it to my cable modem. I know i will have to get sheilded because of my floresent lights but i am clueless on what type cable i should use.

Just use a standard Ethernet cable (Cat5). If you are going to hook up more than one thing to the modem (I'm assuming you are), you should get a router or a hub.

If you have 2 Ethernet cards installed in your computer, you could hook up your PS2 to one and hook up the other to the cable modem. I haven't tried this setup so I can't help you much with it. So in short, you can hook it up to either. Here's some links to routers/hubs (site only ships in the U.S.).

That would be the best method (using a router). I have not tried plugging the PS2 directly to the extra LAN port in my system, it may work and just pick up an IP.
Although I do not have the PS2 adapter since I do not play much online games using the PS2, I will have to eventually buy it if I want to use the Hard Drive function. |
