my sound isn't right.
I didn't really do anything to change settings but now my sound is somewhat metalic and echoing as if a magnetic interfierance is present. Thing is I've tried speakers and headphones and the problem is still there. In winmedia and windamp, and everything else. It's annoying as hell.
My soundcard is a soundblaster live 5.1. has anyone else ever had such a problem? thanks for the help/

Try running Creative Restore Default application.

vio i had that kind of problem when i had my cell phone present near my reciever (pc hooked up to the stereo). It might be the problem. You might have the same problem...
one more thing... how come you have a sound blaster 5.1 in place of your soundstorm?

 my soundstorm works fine.  edit: BTW that creative restore thing seemed to work. Only now I can't get used to the new clarity in the sound  .
