SMART Disk Failure?!

Well this is the third time my PC has given me a SMART Disk Failure warning when i open my PC..... Should i really be worried? I mean my PC is already ******p so im thinking one more peice of hardware that is screwing up aint bad..... I heard on some websites that when it gives a SMARt error it can die in the hours following the message....well its been three days now..

So what should i do? is there a way to know whats the problem? i download Active SMART but it made an error and couldnt detect my drive lol

Re: SMART Disk Failure?!

SMART is a technology on your hard drive designed to warn of impending hard drive failures. If SMART is giving you a message, it's time to back up your stuff and get a new hard drive

Re: SMART Disk Failure?!

Your hard drive will simply get worse with use. It could take days, weeks, or minutes. Eventually it'll be in bad enough shape that you can't load the operating system. At that point it might be possible to retrieve data from the HD using a seperate boot disk (or CD). It could completely skip that and become undetectable ... you want to pay a company for file recovery? Very expensive, very unreliable.

Just remember, you're gambling with everything that's on your hard drive.
