wireless network?

Humm, I am going to order adsl (finally!!!!) and want to build up a wireless network. I want to know

a) if the adsl is USB modem, does it implies it is a soft-ADSL modem?
b) if the modem is USB/PCI, how do I share it besides Internet connection sharing?
c) All those NIC card is so cheap, are they "soft network card"? (like the CPU do all the encode/decoding???) Cuz one of my old PC is a K6 166 I wonder can I use thsoe cheap NIC on it.
d) So basically, I need to buy:
i) 1 wireless card
ii) 1 wireless router
iii) 1 NIC

Is there any site teach some intro to home networking? many thanks for all the helps (which implies someone will help me! )

Re: wireless network?

Where do you live?

I ask because in america you could go to a place like best buy or compusa and get a good wireless router (802.11b) for ~$20-30 and adapters for it for $20. My router cost $20 and it is the SMC 7004VWBR model.
