ATI and Nvidia both wanting to hold back the industry?

http://www.theinquirer.net/?article=10952

delicous, Sweet, yummy rumors.

I really can wonder if something like this would happen. I have stated before in the past both companies cant afford to be spending money like they are.

hmm... cooperation amongst competitors? Of course its a rumor

If they want to hold back the industry, go for it. I'm sick of expensive hardware becoming obsolete within months.

Same here. But I'm just sick of hardware being so damn expensive. I really hope my graphics card doesn't need replacing any time soon...

Re: ATI and Nvidia both wanting to hold back the industry?

If they consort, that would only mean that prices has no where to go but up. It's a practical Monopoly, where instead of competing for a lower price, it becomes stabilized and since it is against the company's interest for price to go lower, it has a high chance to go up. Look at the Memory Industry right now, prices are going up, up, up.

so if you are sick of expensive hardware... too bad, it will stay expensive if it is true. A product being "obsolete" is the only way to make the product's price go down.
