Question 8 chip or 16 chip of RAM?

I'm buying some 256 MB SD RAM and my seller has offered me 8 chip and 16 chip of 256 MB of SD RAM.

Is there any difference between them?

I think 8 chip is : 8 chips each with 32mb

I also think 16 chip is: 16 chips with 16mb
I could be wrong, RZetlin

it also depends on how many slots you have free.
unless there is a way to put 2 sticks of ram in one slot. (if there is please tell me i've run out of slots and i don't want to sell my old ram).

Make sure your mobo properly supports double sided memory. Personally In my very very biased, and un substanciated opinion. :P

The Less Ram chips The less chance of Data failure when Overclocking. Which means less chance of freezes.
