Which is the best recorder brand???

I´m about to buy a CD recorder, which one should I buy???
I´ve seen at stores a Samsung 52x24x52x at U$D59, a Sony 48x24x48x at U$D55 and a LiteON 32x10x32x at U$D48.

I just got a lite-on 52x for £35.99 and its great
Lite-ons have all the raw burning etc options so it backs up all your games no problem.
I wouldnt be swayed just by the speed because I've found with the 10 or so cds I've burnt so far it takes till about 60% recorded before it reaches the max speed (using 40x cds) so in essance its not blisteringly faster than the 16x it replaced.

Yes I would also agree. The LiteON drives are very high quality. Everyone I know who has one has been very happy with their purchase. Sony also makes good drives, my HP is a rebranded Sony model. Its ok, I don't have any complaints except no correct EFM encoding is included.

My Liteon has lasted almost 3 years of daily burning, now thats a miracle. They have good quality if you ask me. And dont get confused by the speed. In the most of the cases you wont get the maximum speed nor the media needed (i rarely see more than 40x cdrs).

I'd say Lite-On. Some of them are overclockable too.

btw, some, if not all Sony drives nowadays are rebranded Lite-Ons.

Hey, Vio, try something for me, please.

Using Nero, burn a bunch of files in DAO-96 mode, using verification, and tell me if if verifies fine, or if one file is inaccessible.
