I have been cheated

I know I havent been getting the right speed from my Athlon XP 2100+ I thought it was cauze of my mobo/the fact that I have no DDR memory, but today I updated the BIOS of my mobo and it said to me it is an XP 2000+ :/

I went to the store where they sold it to me (why didnt I bought it were I work? duh) and they said that since the guarantee is obsolote now I cant complaint...

Piece of *****...

I hate this, how could I knew it wasnt what I bought?
and I call myself a PC expert

You should've threatened to sue the store.

Is worst for me, here @ Argentina they sold you the mobo PCChips m810xp with processor sticked (no way to upgrade) they said me it was Duron XP 1300 and is a ****ing duron @ 950mhz. So they think only to win money. Anyway between 2000mhz and 2100mhz shouldn´t be a great difference

Greetings,

A friend of mine had the same problem as yours Mauros Web. But he fried the processor when trying to change the clock (don't ask me how) so in addition to being cheated he had to buy another processor/mobo... PC stores are ****, only looking for money...

Live long and prosper.

Athlons aren't measured in MHz...so it's not as simple as a difference of 100MHz.
If I were you, I'd print a million flyers which reads "Cheating Store. Never come in!!" ,stand right infront of the shop, and distribute them all

If this happens to me here, I ll make sure I ruin the company's reputation. Here, companies care about thier reputation, they always try to please an angry customer. If i was you, I would have taken my chance.

Yours,

Nexthardwareshop.Com is cheated me once. They sold me a 16X Sony DVD-ROM that was defective. I had to fight them just to let me send it back and get a replacement. That was back in December of '02. No replacement yet and they won't respond to any emails I send them.
I've lodged a complaint against them with the BBB. So, we'll see what happens.

Eh? if its an Athlon XP 2100 its really easy to know. Your CPU is unlocked and you change it's core frequency at anytime.

Why don't you just do that? All t-bred b cores will just change the divider lickity split. Even I can just jump my multipliar without even changing the FSB,

an Athlon XP 2000+ On a t-bred b core steps just like an Athlon XP 2100+ T-bred B Core

Nah, actually when I went to that store they saw the Athlon, then asked me for the guaranty and when they saw it, they told me the guaranty was obsolote, so I have nothing to do ...

so, no, not a Board mistake

>>>Why don't you just do that? All t-bred b cores will just change the divider lickity split. Even I can just jump my multipliar without even changing the FSB,

I cant do that, the stupid board doenst let me do that, the only way I can do that is with CPUFSB or CPUCOOL, but they dont let me activate this starting the PC -.-

mahh how the warranty can expire if you just bought the processor. Unless they have their policies.
I'm with DarkAurora, but not on the sue thing, threat them. Go in company of an attourney I guess you should have a friend who is an attourney taht way you can frighten them and have that processor changed.

No dejes que te vean la cara de......
